Allen-Bradley 2198-H025-ERS is a motion and position control drive that is part of the 2198 product announcement. The product is a Kinetix 5500 Ethernet I/P servo drive with modern control and connectivity capabilities. The driver is compatible with the Studio 5000 Design environment for the integrated architecture. Using an integrated architecture and integrated dual Ethernet communication interface, the 2198-H025-ERS can be fully integrated into CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and GuardLogix controller platforms. Integrating this Kinetix drive into these controllers provides access to the drive parameters through additional instructions and configuration files.
The 2198-H025-ERS operates in a voltage range of 195-264V rms, three phases and a nominal value of 240V. It is also compatible with 324-528V rms, 3-phase and 480VAC nominal voltage levels. It offers 8.0A continuous output current (rms), 11.3A peak output current and 4.0KV@195-264V rms (three-phase) and 8.3kV@324-528V rms (three-phase) outputs.
For branch circuit protection, Allen-Bradley recommends protection such as fuses and circuit breakers. For 2198-H025-ERS, suitable fuses are KTK-R-20 Bussman fuses and Plastic-case CB 140U-D6D3-C20 (if used for UL applications). For non-UL applications, the recommended DIN gG fuse is 20 A and the moulded case breaker is 140U-D6D3-C20. The inverter can also be installed in shared DC or common bus inverter systems, shared AC inverter systems, and shared AC/DC and hybrid systems.
This Bulletin 2198 module is a three-phase module with two (2) frame sizes, 11.3A 0 packets of continuous output current and a nominal drive voltage of 240 to 480 volts with an input voltage range of 324 to 528 volts RMS. It has dual-port connectivity and can use additional CompactLogix, GuardLogix, or ControlLogix programmable controllers to support linear, ring, or star Ethernet topologies. 2198-H025-ERS servo driver with hardwired safe torque off or STO function.
