The 45C912 device is a rack assembly manufactured by Reliance Electric for the Shark XL product family.

The 45C912 rack assembly is designated as a five-slot rack, even though it has a total of six slots. The five main slots in the 45C912 rack assembly are carefully designed to accommodate the Shark XL processor module and the I/O module. The sixth slot is designed to house the Shark XL power module.

In order to connect modules to the rack assembly, you will find that the number of backplane connectors is comparable to the number of modules that can be accommodated in the 45C912 rack assembly. The main module has five larger backplane connectors, and the power module has one smaller backplane connector. In addition, all Shark XL rack components can be connected to other Shark XL rack components. This is accomplished by using an extended rack connection device located on the side of the rack assembly. Connecting multiple rack components together will increase the number of modules that can be stored, which is especially useful for large facilities.

The 45C912 rack components are installed using the two mounting holes on the top of the module. You need to mount the device onto a flat plate that can withstand the weight of the rack and all the modules placed in it.
