The Modbus TCP/IP Client/Server Enhanced communication module reduces data blocks and enables Rockwell Automation ControlLogix processors to easily connect to Modbus TCP/IP compatible devices. Examples include Modicon Programmable Automation controllers (PACs) and various Modbus TCP/ IP-compatible instruments and devices.

The MVI56E-MNETR uses reduced input/output (I/O) data image block sizes to transfer data between itself and the ControlLogix processor. This makes it ideal for remote rack applications using ControlNet or EtherNet/IP process networks. The module is also suitable for applications that require redundant ControlLogix processors.

MVI56E-MNETR enhancements include local and remote configuration and diagnostics via the module's Ethernet port, CIPconnect technology for bridging over Rockwell Automation ControlNet and EtherNetIP networks, And an onboard Web server for accessing module documentation and sample program files.
