ProSoft Technology's MVI56E-AFC computer is an in-case traffic computer for the Rockwell Automation ControlLogix platform. It allows distribution of water, oil and gas measurements and trade transfers. In the case of field automation with the ControlLogix platform, the MVI56E-AFC computer does not need to use a separate flow computer or a separate RTU to measure oil and gas applications. The computer can optimize resources, reduce capital expenditures, and reduce operating expenses. The measurements provided by the MVI56E-AFC computer comply with standards such as AGA, GPA, ISO and API standards. Items included in the shipment of the MVI56E-AFC computer include RJ-45 to DB-9 male head cable and DB-9 female to DB-9 female null modem cable.
The MVI56E-AFC computer includes two integrated serial ports with R-45 interfaces to support RS-232, RS-485, and RS-422 (jumper optional) communication. The serial port has 500 volt rated optical isolation from the rack backplane. These ports support handshake control and provide radio, modem, and multipoint support. The module also includes a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port with an RJ-45 interface and leds for displaying link status and activity. Ethernet ports support automatic crossover. The power requirements for the MVI56E-AFC computer are 3 mA at 24 volts DC and 5 MA at 800 volts DC. LED indicators on the module show module status, serial activity, application status, and backplane transmission status. The MVI56E-AFC computer operates in a temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The module has a storage temperature range of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The work impact rating is 30 G, while the non-work impact rating is 50 G.
