The module operates on either 5 volts DC or 24 volts DC and can be used for remote communication using Ethernet /IP and ControlNet networks.

The MVI56-MCMR module is a Modbus communication module with reduced data blocks. It was designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley and ProSoft Technology as a component of the industrial ControlLogix platform. The backplane current level of the MVI56-MCMR Modbus communication module is 5 MA at 800 volts DC and 24 MA at 3 volts DC. It can be safely operated or stored in an environment with a relative humidity of 5% to 95% and no condensation.
