The Allen-Bradley MVI56-GSC interface module is a common ASCII communication module for Allen-Bradley and ProSoft Technology. It comes with 2 fully configurable ASCII ports that can send and receive long and short ASCII strings. The serial interface module can handle a maximum backplane load current of 800 mA and a maximum operating shock of 3 g.

The Allen-Bradley and ProSoft Technology MVI56-GSC module is a serial interface module designed to be part of the ControlLogix platform in industrial systems. It is a general-purpose ASCII interface module that can be used to add 2 ASCII communication ports to industrial ControlLogix platforms and can be added without using front-end ports on ControlLogix processors and without taking up any valuable processing time. This makes the MVI56-GSC universal ASCII interface module as efficient and convenient as possible, and allows the front port on the host ControlLogix processor to be used to connect to another device.
