The ProSoft MVI56-103M main network interface module has 1 slot and ladder logic for data transmission. The module is available in local or remote rack types and 110-115,200 baud rates.
The Allen-Bradley MVI56-103M module is the IEC 60870-5-103 main communication module for the ControlLogix platform. It has 2 separate primary ports and supports up to 32 sessions. The module is certified to RoHS, CE, ATEX and CSA standards. The MVI56-103M module can be connected to up to 32 devices with serial communication ports and ControlLogix processors. Two communication interfaces on the module act as control devices for connecting to controlled devices on its local network. Each of these primary ports is configurable independently. The MVI56-103M module is the ideal solution for applications where ControlLogix systems need to communicate with IEC compatible devices. Equipment compatible with the MVI56-103M includes circuit breakers, substation communication modules and relays.
Features provided on the MVI56-103M module, such as time stamps and TRBE (Exception True Report), allow the module to transmit reports to the processor without first polling, enabling real-time data transfer for mission-critical applications. The MVI56-103M module requires an empty slot to be installed in rack 1756. This module supports clock synchronization with the processor. Ladder diagram language is used for data transfer between modules and ControlLogix processors. The built-in battery provides backup power to the CMOS and real-time clock for up to 21 days when fully charged. When the battery is discharged, the module will revert to the default clock and BIOS Settings. The power requirements for the MVI56-103M module are 3 MA (24 volts DC) and 800 MA (5 volts DC).
