The Allen-Bradley 5069-AENTR is a compact 5000 Ethernet I/P communication adapter. The adapter is used with the Compact 5000 I/O module, allowing for a distributed I/O architecture over Ethernet. It acts as a gateway between the controller and I/O modules and facilitates data transfer between these components.

The 5069-AENTR features dual Ethernet communication interfaces that support 10/100 Mbps and 1 Gbps communication rates. It supports linear, star, and ring topologies for designing highly available, redundant Ethernet networks. The adapter supports up to 31 Compact 5000 I/O modules and provides both system and field power supplies.

This Ethernet I/P adapter is configured using Studio 5000 Logix Designer version 28.00 and later. It can be configured to act as a device level ring network (DLR) monitor and operate in both protected and unprotected modes. For industrial communications, Allen-Bradley's Universal Industrial Protocol (CIP) is primarily supported by this communication adapter.

The 5069-AENTR comes with a Secure digital (SD) card. It is compatible with the 1784-SD1 and 1784-SD2 Allen-Bradley SD cards. Third-party SD cards can also be used, but Allen-Bradley does not guarantee functionality. This communication adapter can be installed with up to 32 GB of memory.
