The EL5101 main terminal is an interface for directly connecting encoders with signal difference (RS422) or TTL single-end signals. Input frequencies up to 1 MHZ can be evaluated. Two additional 24V digital inputs can be used to store, block, and set inverse states. Error message output encoding can be connected and evaluated through the state of the input. The 5V and 24V codes can be supplied directly via the terminal connection point.

In addition, the EL5101 can measure a period or frequency with a resolution of 100 nanoseconds. With the optional pluggable microincrement function, the EL5101 can provide a more accurate dynamic axis position. It also supports synchronous reading of encoder values along with other input data to the main system via high-precision master minutes (DC). The timestamp is the incremental edge of the last registration. The use of the encoder's profile makes it easy to quickly connect process data for motion control applications.
