The TPMC866 is a standard single-width 32-bit PMC module with 8 asynchronous serial interface channels with both front and rear I/O.

The TPMC866-10R provides an 8-channel RS232 interface that supports received data (RxD), Transmitted data (TxD), Ready to send (RTS), Clear Send (CTS), and GND for each channel. In addition, serial channels 1 and 2 provide data set readiness (DSR), Data Terminal Readiness (DTR), data carrier detection (DCD), and ringing detection indicators (RI).

The TPMC866-11R supports an 8-channel RS422 interface and provides RS422 signal levels via a differential transmitter and receiver. Each serial channel provides send data (TxD +/-), receive data (RxD +/-), and GND. Receiver signal terminals (120 ohms between RxD+ and RxD-) are provided on TPMC866 per channel.

Each channel of the TPMC866-10R/-11R has a 64-byte transmit FIFO and a 64-byte receive FIFO to significantly reduce the overhead required to provide data to the transmitter and receiver and to obtain data from the transmitter and receiver. The FIFO trigger level is programmable.

For all modules, the baud rate can be individually programmed up to 460.8 Kbaud per channel. All channels use PCI interrupt INTA at the same time, but for quick detection of interrupt sources, TPMC866-xxR provides a special interrupt status register. The receiver and transmitter have electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.

All TPMC866 modules are available in the TPMC866-XXR-ET version with extended temperature range.

Provides software support for different operating systems (TPMC866-SW-xx).
