为方便理解网络设备内部的各个功能模块,以S12700E-8为例讲解典型网络设备的构架:
主控板(MPU,Main Processing Unit):负责整个系统的控制平面。
交换网板(SFU,Switch Fabric Unit):负责整个系统的数据平面。数据平面提供高速无阻塞数据通道,实现各个业务模块之间的业务交换功能。
接口板(LPU,Line Processing Unit):线路处理单元是物理设备上用于提供数据转发功能的模块,提供不同速率的光口、电口。
交换网板、接口板上都有自己的管理芯片,与主控板共同组成整个设备的控制管理平面单面板通常制作简单,造价低,但是缺点是无法应用于太复杂的产品上。
双面板是单面板的延伸,当单层布线不能满足电子产品的需要时,就要使用双面板了。双面都有覆铜有走线,并且可以通过过孔来导通两层之间的线路,使之形成所需要的网络连接。
多层板是指具有三层以上的导电图形层与其间的绝缘材料以相隔层压而成,且其间导电图形按要求互连的印制板。多层线路板是电子信息技术向高速度、多功能、大容量、小体积、薄型化、轻量化方向发展的产物。

Main Processing Unit (MPU) : The main processing unit (MPU) is the control plane of the entire system.
Switch Fabric Unit (SFU) : The SFU is responsible for the data plane of the entire system. The data plane provides high-speed non-blocking data channels and implements service exchange between service modules.
Interface board (LPU) : A Line Processing Unit (LPU) is a module on a physical device that provides data forwarding functions and provides optical and electrical interfaces of different rates.
Switch board, interface board have their own management chip, and the main control board together to form the control management plane of the entire device, a single panel is usually simple to make, low cost, but the disadvantage is that it can not be applied to too complex products.
Dual panel is an extension of the single panel, when the single-layer wiring can not meet the needs of electronic products, it is necessary to use dual panel.
