The GE Fanuc IC694ALG442 is an analog combined current/voltage input/output module for Rx3i PacSystems. The module provides four different input channels and two single-ended output channels. Each channel can be configured using Machine Edition software in any of the following ranges: (0 to +10) unipolar, (-10 to +10 V) bipolar, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA. The 0 to +10 unipolar range is the default setting for the system and will be set automatically at installation unless changed. In higher mode, the input channel can be configured in the 4 to 20 mA range. The IC694ALG442 can be used in any I/O slot within the Rx3i system.
Various outputs can be configured. If the system power supply is interrupted or can be reset to the low end of a given series, the final state can be maintained. The output can also be configured to run in ramp mode according to the commands of the applicable program. In addition, low alarm ranges and high alarm ranges can be set for all input channels, and the open fault of each output channel can be relayed to the CPU.
This IC694ALG442 module must be connected to the 24 VDC power supply of an external power supply for proper use. If used with the RX3i universal backplane, an external signal source can be connected via the TB1 connector located on the left side of the backplane. Another option is achieved by directly connecting the terminal of the module. If you are using a backplane, you must connect the external power supply to the terminal. The per-bit resolution is based on the configured input or output range. If the current source is reversed into an input, or below the low end of the current range, the module input corresponds to a data word at the low end of the range. The resolution of the converted signal is 12 binary bits and comes from the A/D converter in %AI. Each channel is capable of 15 - to 16-bit conversion.
As an added feature, the IC694ALG442 can respond directly to specific COMMREQ commands in the application to perform certain tasks, such as removing error codes, modifying input alarm limits, and putting one or both outputs in ramp mode.
