The GPIB-PCII (Part number: 777463-01, 777463-51, 776092-01, and 776092-51) is a low-cost, full-featured GPIB interface for PCS with ISA slots. The manufacturer of the GPIB-PCII interface is National Instruments. GPIB-PCII is compatible with many boards, such as any interface board based on the TI TMS 9914A controller chip and all GPIB-PCII and GPIB-PCIIA boards based on the NEC μPD7210. GPIB-PCII can convert a simple PC, PC/XT, IBM, PCAT, or any other compatible personal computer into an advanced, fully functional, and operational IEEE 488.2 controller, speaker, and listener. This conversion can be done by using a GPIB-PCII equipped with a NAT4882 chip.

The driver software for NI GPIB-PCII is NI-488.2. NI-488.2 has built-in functionality for several libraries, such as the language interface library and the dynamic link library. There are also several utilities, including development and debugging utilities. GPIB-PCII driver software and hardware transform a simple system into a versatile system with complete bus management and communication capabilities. Some additional software compatible with GPIB-PCII, such as measurement Studio, LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, can be ordered to communicate with GPIB instruments.
