The NI SCXI-1379 (Part number: 778732-01) is capable of configuring the SCXI-1130 switch module into an 8x32, 1-wire matrix. By using the software, the user can control the matrix linking to any row to any column. When the SCXI-1130 module is configured as a matrix, it becomes a general-purpose signal router. The SCXI 1379 terminal is installed on the front of the SCXI-1130 module. The terminal connects the signal as well as trigger input and trigger output signals to the switch module using screw terminals. The NI SCXI-1379 can be used in conjunction with the NI matrix extension plug to achieve instantaneous row expansion via column linking. No external wiring is required.

The NI SCXI-1379 terminal requires the use of multiple items. These items include: Matrix expansion plugs, Matrix expansion cables, SCXI chassis, SCXI-1130 module, wire insulation strippers, wire cutters, Philips screwdrivers, and 1/8-inch flat-head screwdrivers.
