National Instruments SCXI-1377 wiring terminals

The NI SCXI-1377 (Part number: 778716-01) is designed for the SCXI-1130 switch module. The pre-mounting terminal allows the SCXI-1130 module to be configured as: 256x1, 1-wire multiplexer, 128x1, 2-wire multiplexer, 64x1, 4-wire multiplexer, or stand-alone multiplexer or matrix configuration. The terminal can also implement other multiplexer sizes built on the 16x1 building block of the SCXI 1130 switch module. The SCXI 1377 has spring terminals and screw terminals for connecting signals to the switch. In addition, screw terminals are provided for triggering input and triggering output signals. NI recommends 28 AWG wires (banded or discrete) for use with the SCXI-1377.

To connect the signal to the NI SCXI-1377 terminal, the user needs the terminal, SCXI chassis, SCXI-1130 switch module, 1/8-inch flat head screwdriver, Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and wire insulation strippers. First, strip the insulation to 7 mm or less, then remove the top screw. Next, loosen and remove the top cover. The user can then loosen the two stress relief screws on the stress relief assembly and remove the top stress relief rod. Then, thread the signal wire through the stress relief opening. Next, the user can open each terminal and place the stripped portion of the wire into the terminal. Make sure the wires are securely in place. Put the stress relief rod back in place, then tighten the two screws on the stress relief assembly to hold the cable in place. Finally, reinstall the top cover and top screws.
