National Instruments NI-9853 C series CAN interface module
The NI 9853 modules (part numbers: 779429-01, 780178-01, and 199016E-02L) are 2-port High Speed Controller Local Area Network (CAN) modules for NI CompactRIO. There are two variants of this module. Part number 779429-01 is a standard module, while part number 780178-01 has a conformal coating. With this module, users can complete communication with the gadget at a rate of up to 1 Mbit/s under 100% of the bus stack. Users can take advantage of CompactRIO's adaptability and execution capabilities. The NI 9853 CAN module has 11-bit and 29-bit assertion ID support and can communicate on J1939 systems. With NI 9853 CAN 2.3 or later driver programming, users can incorporate vector database documents into their applications. Users can program the CompactRIO framework in rest mode. In rest mode, the frame consumes less power and may scatter less heat. Usually, when the framework is in rest mode, the user cannot communicate with the module. It is important to know that there is a similar mode called transceiver mode sleep, which sets the CAN port to rest mode and can be mistaken for rest mode.
This CAN interface module has two 9-pin male D-Sub connectors. Each connector provides a link to the CAN bus. Each port on the NI-9853 module has pins for CAN_H and CAN_L. The user CAN connect the CAN bus signal to the pin using a twisted pair cable.
In this module, the maximum number of nodes is highly correlated with the electrical quality of the hub on the system. If the most significant part of the nodes meets the prerequisites of ISO 11898, no fewer than 30 nodes may be associated with the bus. If the electrical properties of the nodes do not destroy the signal quality under ISO 11898 signal level determination, a greater number of nodes should be associated. The electrical characteristics of the NI 9853 allow for 110 CAN ports on one system.
