The GE /GE Fanuc IC630CPU301 Series Tri-Central Processor (CPU) is a 4K word processor and programmer unit for GE Series Tri-PLC systems. The IC630CPU301 CPU contains the system's microprocessor, which performs logic, communication, and data processing functions for each series of three PLC applications. The IC630CPU301 CPU receives input data from field devices connected to the control system and makes logical decisions based on predefined and user-defined control parameters. The IC630CPU301 performs iterative scans, with each scan time varying depending on the size and complexity of the program being scanned. A Series three I/O system consists of 1 to 3 basic units that are connected to form a local I/O station consisting of a CPU, power supply, I/O module, and system interface module.
In the maximum configuration of a Series three I/O system, with three base units connected via an I/O expander cable, the IC630MDL302 CPU is mounted only on the main base unit or handheld operation using a 1.5-meter CPU connector cable. Standard applications for the CPU/ programmer include entering new ladder programs, editing existing ladder programs, adjusting and monitoring preset values for timers and counters, monitoring coil and contact status, and starting and stopping program execution, and it can also be used to access connected peripherals such as PROM writers, audio tapes, and printers.
