The device is designed to capture color and grayscale images and control the digital camera. The NI PCI-1424 is an ideal device for capturing high-resolution digital images. The device has an internal memory that initially processes and stores images at a clock speed of 50 MHz, with a cumulative acquisition rate of 200 MB/s. The PCI 1424 image capture card comes with 16 MB of memory. However, users can choose to use memory modules to increase on-board memory. To improve overall throughput, users can take advantage of on-board memory as it provides enough buffering for large images before transferring them to PC memory.
