The NI PXI-8423/2 (Part number: 777737-02) is an RS-485 interface for PXI with 64B FIFO, 460.8 (kb/s) transfer rate and optical isolation. It is an asynchronous interface for communicating with instruments via serial ports. This model has plug-and-play compatibility with Microsoft 2000, NT, XP, Me, and 9x. Therefore, it brings the advantage of automatic configuration for worry-free installation. The device can be easily installed from the user's current application (such as Visual Basic, Excel Visual, C++, etc.) as a standard serial port.
