The MVME167P is based on the MOTOROLA MC68040 and combines a microprocessor with a memory management and floating-point unit. The new "Petra" application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) replaces functions previously implemented in the MCECC chip and improves the performance of the memory subsystem.
