The HIMA Level Crossing monitoring system consists of the HIMA HIMatrix Safety Controller central Processing Unit (CPU) and, depending on I/O requirements, may include additional remote AIO and/or DIO units to monitor additional analog and digital I/O. b) The ARTC HIMA level Crossing monitoring system processes digital and analog I/O to generate, record (in non-volatile event records) and report alerts and events. c) Alerts and incidents can be reported to ARTC's train control System1 and forcibly reported to a central level crossing monitoring workstation via a 3G or 4g communication link, if necessary. Typically, this connection will be via the Modbus TCP protocol, where HIMA acts as a Modbus slave device. However, other protocols may also be used and/or implemented in the future. d) 3G/4G network router should be provided. e) The event logger is implemented as a ComUserTask module in the HIMA COM processor and can be accessed and configured by local and remote maintenance personnel via a web interface. f) The HIMA system can be queried locally or remotely via the HIMA SILWorX maintenance tool via the remote maintenance workstation. g) The local maintenance panel can be used to display the status of the crossing monitor and allow the maintenance personnel to enter maintenance mode (suppress remote alarms) and calibrate the sensor.
