Allen-Bradley 1762-OW8 is an eight (8) point AC /DC relay type output module for the MicroLogix 1100/1200/1400 programmable logic controller. It is part of the Bulletin 1762 MicroLogix extended I/O module family. By maximizing the controller's I/O capabilities in terms of type and quantity, it provides flexibility in industrial environments. It supports rackless modular design, reduces replacement parts inventory, and improves cost savings. In addition, the 1762-OW8 can be mounted on a panel or DIN rail.
The 1762-OW8 output module has an AC /DC normally open relay voltage class with an operating range of 5 to 265 volts AC and 5 to 125 volts DC. It has a maximum bus current consumption of 80 mA at 5 volt DC (0.40 watts) and 90 mA at 24 volt DC (2.16 Watts). It has a maximum continuous current of 8 amps and 16 amps per module. The device must be installed six modules away from the power supply of the host. It has two isolated output groups built in - output 0 to 3 and output 4 to 7. The 1762-OW8 relay output module can be mounted on EN 50 022 35 x 7.5 mm or EN 50 022 35 x 15 mm DIN rails. For installations in high vibration or shock environments, DIN rail end anchors are used. For greater vibration requirements, choose panel mounting. For DIN rail and panel mounting, prevent debris from falling into the 1762-OW8 module so as not to cause any damage.
The 1762-OW8 is a MicroLogix relay output expansion module. The expansion module has two (2) output groups, each with four (4) outputs. Group 0 consists of channels 0-3, while group 1 consists of channels 4-7. The module is compatible with enhanced embedded output capabilities for MicroLogix 1100, 1200 and 1400 programmable logic controllers (PLCS).
The module has eight (8) relay contact outputs and is designed to operate in voltage classes in the 5 to 265VAC and 5 to 125VDC voltage ranges. The module is connected to the MicroLogix bus via a supplied ribbon cable that terminates to an adjacent expansion module or MicroLogix base controller. For the conversion from on to off and from off to on, the signal delay time for each channel of the module is 10 ms. Each output point has A rated continuous current of 2.5 A, each common point has a continuous current of 8A and each module has a continuous current of 16A.
The module is used to energize the electromagnetic contactor, relay coil and electromagnetic drive device. It can also be used to issue run and start commands for variable frequency drives (VFDS), motor starters, and similar loads. In general, it can also be used for excitation lights, indicators, alarm signal panels, alarms, buzzers, horns, and other discrete devices.
