The Allen-Bradley 25B-D010N104 tunable Frequency converter is a frequency converter with a separate detachable control module that provides comprehensive and cost-effective motor control in a variety of industrial applications from standalone operation to simple system integration. Its modular design makes it easy to configure and install in the field, and users can also remotely control, configure and access application data via an embedded Ethernet /IP port, which is an added advantage over traditional drives.
The 25B-D010N104 is a 3-phase 480-volt AC converter with an output current of 10.5 amps, and unlike some Powerflex 525 converters, is rated at 5.0 HP. The drive is designed with built-in protection features such as automatic bus voltage regulation and fast-acting current limiting, as well as a safe torque shutdown feature common to all PowerFlex 525 drives to respond faster to applications and protect internal components and personnel in the event of safety-related outages. The 25B-D010N104 is designed with enhanced power loss traversal time and a detachable metal oxide varistor to provide ground fault protection when used in ungrounded conditions. The 25B-D010N104 can be programmed for per-hertz volt control, sensorless vector control, closed-loop velocity vector control, and permanent magnet motor control.
It employs a pulse-width-modulated signal with a programmable carrier frequency range of 2 to 16 kHz and offers an optional output voltage from 0 to rated motor voltage. In the absence of an encoder device, it provides a frequency performance range of +/ -0.5% of the base speed in a speed range of 100:1, and has an operating efficiency of 97.5%. The 25B-D010N104 offers 2 programmable acceleration/deceleration times, programmed in 0.1 second increments up to 60 seconds, as well as a normal duty cycle overload rating for 60 seconds and 15% of the output rating for 3 seconds. It has I/O 2 analog inputs, 7 digital inputs, 1 analog output, and 2 relay outputs for additional control.
The 25B-D010N104 communicates using an embedded Ethernet /IP port that allows control over an Ethernet network, and it also has an integrated RS-485 serial interface that allows multi-point communication configurations. The drive is a Frame D drive with an open housing that has an operating temperature limit of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius (-4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) with no derating. The 25B-D010N104 is ATEX, KCC, KUV, CE, RCM and cUL-us certified and weighs approximately 1.6 kg with a total mounting size of 87 x 180 x 172 mm.
The PowerFlex 525 also comes with an embedded keyboard that allows local operations such as start/stop/click/forward/back commands and parameter configuration. It is paired with an embedded liquid crystal display (LCD) reading, allowing the user to monitor the current status of the drive and the current parameter menu.
