Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16IEF is a ControlLogix DC digital isolation, fast peer-to-peer control output module. The module is electronically fused and point-to-point protected and has 16 independently isolated outputs. The 1756-OB16IEF module responds to system conversion commands in less than 25μS. It also has status indicators to show diagnostic and I/O status. A detachable terminal housing (RTB) is required before installing the module into the case. The only compatible RTBS are the 1756-TBS6H and 1756-TBCH.
The module has a fault reporting function and has additional features that allow you to define the duration of the module before it switches from on to off after an error occurs. The 1756-OB16IEF module is CIP Sync only for slave devices, which uses CIP Sync for time stamping and scheduling. Therefore, another module is needed to act as the master clock of the network. Additional features of the 1756-OB16IEF module include configurable point-level output status, output data echo, isolated and non-isolated output modules, multiple output point density, electronic fuse and diagnostic information latches.
The available fault mode states are Hold, Last Status, On, or Off. The available failure mode durations are 1, 2, 5, 10 seconds and "Permanent". The final state after failure mode can be "Off" or "On". The default value for all of these states is "Off," but the failure mode is set to "Permanent."
The 1756-OB16IEF module has A pilot rating of 4 A surges. At 60 degrees Celsius, the maximum current per module is 16 A and 1 A per channel, and at 45 degrees Celsius, the maximum current is 8 A and 2 A per channel.
