The Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16I is a ControlLogix DC digital output module with sixteen (16) independent isolation points. It has no internals, however, you can use external IFM to protect the output. The recommended fuse type for this module is 5x20mm 4A quick fuse with the part number SOC p/n MQ2-4A. For the 1756-OB16I module, the compatible remote terminal (RTB) is 1756-TBCH 1756-TBS6H, both of which have 36 pins. RTB is required to provide signal endpoints.
The output channel of this module has a configurable safe state position when the controller's mode changes to program and controller failure.
The module also has the following communication formats: Output data, Listen only Output data, rack optimization, Listen only rack optimization, and timed output data. It also allows the state of each point to be selected in "Fault" or "Programs", where "Keep Last state", "On" or "off" are available options for each option, and are set for both by default.
