The Allen-Bradley 5069-IF8 is a compact 5000 I/O module. The module is an analog input module with primarily eight (8) differential input channels. Compatible voltage signal ranges are ±10VDC, 0-10VDC and 0-5VDC, and applicable current signal ranges are 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA.
The 5069-IF8 is commonly used to connect analog sensors and transmitters. The module accepts analog signals and converts the received data into digital information. The conversion is performed by a sigma-δtwo, 24-bit multiplexed analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The converted data is stored in IEEE 32-bit floating-point data format. The converted digital data can be further processed for on-board data alarm, scaling to engineering units, and real-time channel sampling.
The scanning time of the module is 625 μs per channel and 2.5 ms per group. It also has an optional input notch filter that can be selected from 5, 10 (50/60 default), 15, 20, 50, 60, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 10000, 15625, 25000, 31250, 62500 Hz. These filter Settings are often used to linearize data, especially input data that is unstable and changes rapidly over a short period of time. In addition, the module can be used with a high-speed addressable Remote Sensor (HART) terminal. Users only need to add a 250? The resistor enters the current loop and meets the requirements of HART transmitter. The module has the functions of embedded overvoltage protection and open circuit detection. Equipped with 8 yellow/red I/O indicator leds and 1 green/red module indicator LED, the driver uses an open housing and is factory-calibrated. The module's MOD power supply or module bus power supply has a voltage range of 18-32V DC and a pass-through voltage range with a maximum current of 75 mA and a maximum rated current of 9.55 mA. The sensor actuator (SA) of the 5069-IF8 module has a field supply voltage range of 18-32V DC, a through voltage range of 0-32V DC, a maximum field supply current of 100 mA, and a maximum rated current of the module of 9.95A. Its maximum power consumption is 2.1 W in voltage mode and 2.4 W in current mode, while the maximum heat dissipation is 7.2 BTU/ hour in voltage mode and 8.2 BTU/ hour in current mode. It also operates best at temperatures of 0-60 oC and can be stored at temperatures of -40-85 oC.
