The Allen-Bradley 5069-L380ERM is a CompactLogix 5380 controller. This is a programmable automation controller (PAC) designed to meet common and standard automation requirements. The controller also has an embedded motion control function, as it enables this control via Ethernet I/P. The 5069-L380ERM mainly has 8 MB of user memory and 2 GB of non-volatile memory.
This non-volatile device can be scaled up to 32 GB or other sizes as needed. Compatible Secure digital (SD) cards for memory expansion include the 1784-SD1 (1 GB), 1784-SDHC8 (8 GB), 1784-SDHC32 (32 GB), and 9509-CMSDCD4 (4 GB) CodeMeter CmCard.
The 5069-L380ERM can be configured with up to 32 periodic, continuous, and event-based task types. Each task can handle up to 1000 programs. For communication, the controller provides two (2) Ethernet communication interfaces as primary communication ports and one (1) USB port for local communication and configuration purposes. USB ports do not support industrial communications. Ethernet ports can be configured with transfer rates of 10/100 Mbps and 1 Gbps, while USB ports support transfer speeds of 12 Mbps.
The controller supports the configuration of up to 256 motion shafts and 24 CIP drive shafts. The motion shaft can be composed of CIP drive shaft, virtual shaft and consumption shaft, as well as regenerative AC/DC converter and non-regenerative AC/DC converter shaft types.
The 5069-L380ERM controller uses basic insulation types to provide 300V (continuous) voltage isolation between MOD power and backplane, Ethernet and backplane, USB and backplane. 300V (continuous) isolation voltage between USB and SA power supply, Ethernet and SA power supply, and between Ethernet and MOD power supply using a double insulation type. The Controller ™ processor has about 1000 programs/tasks, and it can use all event triggering mechanisms for an unlimited number of task events. It is also equipped with 2 Ethernet /IP base configuration ports, supports DLR, star and linear topologies, and has data transfer rates of 10 Mbp, 100 Mbp and 1 GB/s using only the full-duplex transfer protocol. The controller features approximately 70 EtherNet/IP node addresses, up to 32 slot interfaces, and will support up to 28 axes for integrated motion control. The controller comes with a full 10MB of user memory and supports external memory card slots for memory expansion. The 5069-L380ERM is mounted using DIN rail and detachable terminal (RTB) with terminal screw torque of 0.4 Nm (3.5 lbs-in). It has T4 ATEX, North American and IEC temperature codes and operates between 0 °C and 60 °C, with a humidity range of about 5-95% and no condensation. The 5069-L380ERM weighs approximately 0.768 kg (1.693 lb) and has a total dimensions of 143.97 mm x 98.10 mm x 136.81 mm (5.67 in x 3.86 in x 5.39 in). And passed C-UL, RCM, CE, IECx and KC certification.
