It has 3 MB of user memory and 2 GB of optional non-volatile memory for additional storage. The controller has a current consumption of 1.20 amps at 5.1V DC and 5.0 mA at 1.2V DC. The 1756-L84E-NSE controller and other controllers in the ControlLogix 5580 controller family are rated for power consumption of 6.2 W and heat dissipation of 21.2 BTU per hour. Other notable features of the device include support for 32 controller tasks, support for all local input/output event triggers, and support for 1000 programs per task. The unit is equipped with an embedded Ethernet port and a USB port as its integrated communication port.
