The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1756-IB16S I/O module is a digital security module designed specifically for the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix family of products. The 1756-IB16S digital security I/O module is available for Logix 5000 control systems, but the only compatible case type is the C Series Allen-Bradley 1756 ControlLogix case. The I/O module has 16 feed current inputs and operates in a voltage range of 18 to 32 volts DC. It supports the Allen-Bradley 1756 backplane communication protocol.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1756-IB16S digital security I/O module operates in only one mode, single channel point operation mode. In this mode of operation, all input channels are pre-configured and fixed in a single channel point setting. The signal status of each input channel in the 1756-IB16S digital secure I/O module can be evaluated and used to activate secure input data and status.
