The Allen-Bradley 1756-IA8D is a ControlLogix digital I/O module.
There are 8 diagnostic inputs in this AC input module, with 4 points available in each group. This module is suitable for the 1756 ControlLogix chassis and is only compatible with the 1756-TNBH or 1756-TBSH Detachable Terminal (RTB).
A unique feature of the 1756-IA8D is field power loss detection. A point level failure is sent to the controller when a field power failure occurs in the module or when zero crossing cannot be detected. This allows the controller to find the exact point of failure, so be sure to enable this option only for the point in use. If unused points activate field power loss detection, these points are registered as faults during operation, rather than unused points.
Other configurable features of the 1756-IA8D include state change, input filter time, line break detection, diagnostic latch, and diagnostic state change.
The module has a nominal input voltage of 120 volts AC and 50 to 60 Hertz, the same as its voltage class. The backplane current is 100 mA at 5.1 V DC and 3 mA at 24 V DC, and the total backplane power is 0.58 W. Its operating voltage ranges are 79 to 132 V AC and 47 to 63 Hz.
