The Allen-Bradley 1756-HSC is a counter module designed to perform high-speed counting in industrial applications. The module has optional modes, such as a frequency mode or a counter mode for processing input signals. The counter mode is set to the default mode and the data can be updated every 2 milliseconds. Users can change the storage of the count value because the 1756-HSC module uses user-configured presets to evaluate it against the count value. This provides a faster response time for module activation output compared to when evaluated in the controller. Pre-installed configuration labels are supplied with the 1756-HSC module, and these labels will determine whether the counted pulses are cumulative counts (ranging from 1 to 16 million), or positive or negative frequencies, depending on the direction of rotation.
