The Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD module is a 12 to 120 volt AC output module. The module uses zero crossing technology, when the output voltage is below the specified voltage, usually at the AC voltage of 40 to 50 volts, it can be switched on. It also greatly reduces the pressure on contacts and other devices that may be sensitive to electrical surges. The 1771-OAD module is compatible with some Allen-Bradley chassis, excluding the 1771-A1, 1771-A2, and 1771-A4. The module has an output range of 10 to 138 volts AC, a frequency of 47 to 63 Hz, and an output current rating of 2 amps. The minimum load current of this module is 5ma, and the maximum OFF state leakage current is 3.0 mA at 138v AC. The maximum power consumption of this module is 13w and the minimum power consumption is 1.5w. The maximum heat dissipation is 48.0 BTU/h, and the minimum heat dissipation is 5.13 BTU/h.


When using the Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD module the device includes a diode that is loaded in series, placing a shunt resistor (39 KOhm, 1 watt) throughout the charge. This resistor enables correct output operation. When the output is off, the shunt resistor can cause the LED indicator to light up. If this happens, use incandescent bulbs instead of leds. The 1771-OAD module receives the chassis power supply through the Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O chassis backplane. It requires 295 mA of output current from this power supply. Add this requirement to the requirements for all other modules on the I/O chassis to prevent overloading of the backplane chassis and/or the power supply chassis.


The Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD is a discrete output module with an operating voltage class of 10-120VAC. This module is compatible with selected 1771 chassis, such as 1771-A1B to -A4B or later I/O chassis, 1771-AM1, -AM2 chassis. The module is compatible with PLC5 Programmable Logic controller (PLC) systems.


The module has 16 discrete input channels and operates in the AC voltage range of 10 to 138V AC, 47-63 Hz. This module is not compatible with 1771 chassis such as 1771-A1, 1771-A2, and 1771-A4. Also, when 2-Slot addressing is used, it cannot be used with another output module within the same group or with a single card block transfer module.


Power Requirements The midplane current of the module must be 295 mA. His backplane current information must be added along with the backplane current requirements of the other modules. This is to ensure proper power supply size.


The module uses a connecting arm with part number 1771-WH. The boom is a standard component of all I/O modules as this component provides a convenient wiring method and provides modularity to prevent rewiring when the module is replaced.


A single status indicator is provided with the module. Each channel has a dedicated LED light that lights up when the module is activated. This indicator provides an intuitive tool for troubleshooting. In addition, an activity and fuse indicator light is provided to show the operating status of the module and the fuse indicator light.


The module can be installed in any PLC5 chassis and available slots.
