The CompactLogix modular controller with part number 1769-L32E is a Programmable automation controller (PAC) manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The controller is commonly used in machine control and medium process applications. The controller has integrated one (1) RS232 and one (1) Ethernet communication port.

The default configuration of the RS232 interface is DF1 full duplex, 19.2 Kbps, no parity, station address 0, no handshake, BCC error detection, automatic detection of embedded response, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit. This default configuration can be manually configured to establish initial communication with the device. If used with RSLinx, autoconfiguration can be used to automatically detect communication Settings. This same RS232 port can also be configured as an ASCII protocol interface to connect to barcode instruments commonly used in manufacturing processes.
