The Allen-Bradley 1756-L75 Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) is part of the ControlLogix controller platform and is designed for large, complex applications. The 1756-L75 is a processor specifically designed for Logix processors that accepts downloads of user programs developed in ladder diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), function Block diagram (FBD), and Sequential Function Diagram (SFC).
The 1756-L75 is the most powerful processor in the Logix 5570 controller family, as the controller comes with 32MB of user memory and 0.98 input and output memory. With this capability, you can use this controller to implement user programs that are custom designed to implement complex applications. In addition, the 1756-L75 is one of the controllers compatible with Rockwell Automation's PlantPAx Distributed Control System (DCS). The 1756-L75 also comes with one (1) 1784-SD1 Secure digital (SD) card with 1 GB of non-volatile memory area.
The 1756-L75 fits into the previously recognized eco-friendly solution of using energy storage modules to retain the contents of volatile memory instead of using conventional batteries. In addition, the controller is capable of downloading up to 32 controller tasks, each of which may contain up to 100 programs, and supports all event triggers.
The 1756-L75 can be used to connect up to 128,000 digital I/ OS and 4,000 analog I/ OS. The embedded USB port can be used to download the initial configuration to the controller with transfer rates up to 12 Mbps. This controller can be used in simple or redundant controller configurations and is installed into any slot in the 1756 ControlLogix chassis.
The 1756-L75 controller can handle up to 500 controller connections. It also has a variety of communication options available, such as third-party process and device networking, EtherNet/IP, SynchLink, ControlNet, Remote I/O, DeviceNet, and Data Highway Plus.
It is also equipped with three capacitive energy storage modules, two of which are removable and one is non-removable. The detachable 1756-ESMCAP module is installed with the controller. Another detachable module is the 1756-ESMNSE, which has no remaining WallClockTime backup power. The 1756-ESMNRM is a non-removable module that protects the controller by preventing the use of SD cards and USB connections.
It has a maximum digital and total I/O of 128,000, respectively, and a maximum analog I/O of 4,000. The current consumption of this controller is 2 mA at 5.1V DC and 1 mA at 800.5V DC. It has a power consumption of 2.5 W and a continuous isolation voltage of 30V. It has a heat dissipation of 8.5 BTU/ hour and a relative humidity of 5% to 95% (non-condensing). The maximum ambient air temperature of the controller is 60 degrees Celsius, the operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, and the non-operating temperature range is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. At 2 to 10 Hz, its vibration is 500 g, non-working shock is 50 g, and when installing an SD card, it drops to 45 g and working shock is 30 g.
