Allen-Bradley 1756-TBCH is an analog input module from the ControlLogix controller platform that primarily features eight (8) differential input channels compatible with voltage and current signals. It also adds compatibility with the high-speed addressable Remote Sensor (HART) protocol, with only one HART modem per module. Configurable current signals for the 1756-IF8H include the industry standard 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA. For voltage input signals, the supported voltages are +/-10VDC, 0-5 VDC, 1-5 VDC, and 0-10 VDC. The module has a resolution range of 16-21 bits, and the backplane current requirements are 300 mA@ 5.1VDC and 135 mA@ 24VDC. Its total backplane power consumption is 4.77 watts, while heat dissipation varies depending on the signal configured. For voltage signal processing, the heat dissipation is 11/0 BTU/hr, while for current, the heat dissipation is 13.7 BTU/hr. It has an open circuit detection time of 5 seconds and overvoltage protection of 30 VDC and 8 VDC for voltage and current signal configurations. This module is a single width module and therefore occupies a single slot in the 1756 chassis. It can be part of a local I/O or distributed I/O system. Module pass-through configurations and communication with HART communications and devices can significantly increase scan times. The 1756-IF8H uses successive approximation as the input conversion method, while the output conversion method is by R ladder DAC, monotonicity, no loss of code.


Allen-Bradley 1756-IF8H is a HART analog module belonging to the ControlLogix system. It requires a 36-bit spring-clip RTB or removable terminal housing, which can be 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H, and is compatible with HART 5, 6, and 7. The module provides eight differential voltage or current inputs, one HART modem for each module. The 1756-IF8H input module receives the signal from the process value transmitter and then converts it into the corresponding measured value for use in the Logix controller. This will make it easier for you to view all the data related to your field devices.


Using this module allows you to implement emulated and HART connections in one module, and HART commands can be transmitted with 1756-IF8H as unplanned messages. Additional features of the 1756-IF8H include multiple current and voltage input ranges, real-time sampling, process alarm, line break detection, module filters, underrange and overrange detection, rate alarm, and highway addressable remote sensor (HART) communication. The 1756-IF8H has a variable operating range for each channel in the module. You can choose from a range of -10 to 10 volts, 0 to 5 volts, 0 to 10 volts, 0 to 20 MA, and 4 to 20 mA, with HART instruments using the latter range. The module has a resolution range of 16 to 21 bits. Backplane voltage and current ratings are 5.1 V DC, 300 MA, 24 V DC, and 135 MA for a total backplane power of 4.77 watts. The current has a voltage consumption of 3.21 watts and 4.01 watts, respectively, and also has a maximum overvoltage protection of 30 volts DC (voltage) and 8 volts DC (current).
