The Allen-Bradley 1769-L16ER-BB1B is a processor module that is also part of the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5370 L1 programmable automation controller family with a limit of 4 Ethernet nodes. Using a single IP address, the controller can be connected to an Ethernet network through two built-in communication ports. The 1769-L16ER-BB1B module comes with an integrated switch that supports linear, traditional star, and DLR (device level ring) topologies. Its DLR capabilities enhance its network resilience. It can read structured text, function blocks, relay ladders, and the SFC programming language.
The Allen-Bradley 24 V DC 1769-L16ER-BB1B controller provides the user with an embedded I/O module with 16 digital input points for the feed current and 16 digital output points for the source. It also supports up to six 1734 POINT I/O native extension modules. If the user is using extension modules, these additional modules should be installed on the right side of the controller and linked in the same system. The total current consumption of the embedded I/O and local expansion modules should not exceed the POINTbus' available 1 amp backplane current and 3 amp field power supply current. The 1769-L16ER-BB1B DIN-rail PAC supports up to 100 programs for 32 continuous or periodic tasks. It has 32 sockets and high-performance capacity for up to 256 controllers, 120 TCP and 256 CIP connections, with a packet rate capacity of 6000 and a speed of 500 bytes/packet/second.
The controller also comes with 384 KB of memory and comes with a Secure Digital (SD) card with a memory size of 1 GB for non-volatile memory allocation. It can be further expanded by installing a 2GB non-volatile memory SD card.
The 1769-L16ER-BB1B supports up to 32 controller tasks. For each task, 100 continuous programs can be configured. The built-in two (2) Ethernet communications allow the controller to connect to linear, star, and device-level loop (DLR) topologies and be able to communicate with four (4) Ethernet device nodes.
The 1769-L16ER-BB1B has a 24VDC input point with sixteen (16) channels built in and sixteen (16) 24VDC controller outputs. This allows controllers to be configured and machine and process automation to be performed out of the box. In addition, I/O points can be expanded by installing up to six (6) 1734 point I/O modules locally.
The 1769-L16ER-BB1B CompactLogix controller supports programming through the standard programming language specified by IEC 61131-3. The controller allows programming in relay ladder diagrams, structured text, function blocks, and sequential function diagrams (SFC). Allows a combination of programming languages to customize programs to meet any control requirements.
