The Allen-Bradley 1768-L45 is a CompactLogix controller that offers advanced features and a cost-effective solution for mid-size automation requirements. The controller is designed with Logix capabilities, specifically 3MB of larger integrated memory, expandable support for up to four (4) 1768 modules, and thirty (30) 1769 compact I/O modules that can be installed in three (3) expansion groups.
The controller provides 3MB memory allocation. Optional non-volatile memory can be added using CompactFlash 1784-CF128. The controller is also embedded with a fully isolated RS232 communication port. It supports a maximum speed of 38.4 Kbps. This serial communication port supports DF1 full duplex and half duplex as well as DH485 communication protocols. The recommended cable to establish communication with the embedded serial port is 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3, which are right Angle connectors with the controller, straight through the serial port, with a length of 3 meters.
