The DC s800-EP panel driver now delivers up to 600 hp. This adds 460-volt AC voltage solutions of 400, 500 and 600 HP to the product line's existing 5-300 HP ratings.
The DCS800-EP includes a DCS800 drive module mounted on a multistage subpanel, as well as standard and optional components such as AC contactors, fuses, and control transformers. The panel driver is UL 508A compliant with a short circuit current rating of 65ka(SCCR). It is designed as a virtual alternative to the Reliance Electric FlexPak 3000, commonly used in the steel and tube rolling industries, but also in extruders and many other applications. Since ABB acquired Baldor Electric, which sold FlexPak for more than 3,000 years, the DCS800-EP is expected to gain wider acceptance as FlexPak continues to be in the "legacy" phase of its life cycle. A wide selection of panel drives can be ordered with optional circuit breakers and blower motor contactors as well as overloads. It also offers an optional drive on a 460 volt up to 150 HP internal line reactor. In cases where existing DC contactors can be reused, drivers without AC contactors can be ordered. Whenever possible, ABB components are used and the panels are manufactured in the United States.
