The Woodward Model 9905-354 is a microprocessor-based DSLC digital synchronizer and load control. When used with Woodward speed controllers and automatic voltage regulators, the controller is designed to parallel, synchronize, load and unload three-phase generator sets.
Some of the features of the 9905-354 include:
Built-in diagnosis
Setup, metering and diagnostic functions are achieved through a handheld programmer terminal
Generator automatic handling
Voltage drop, base load and synchronous load control functions
Reverse power relay.
The 9905-354 provides phase matching or slip frequency synchronization. The actual slip frequency and circuit breaker delay values of the two methods are used to predict the minimum phase difference between the generator and the bus when the actual circuit breaker is closed. The controller has automatic dead bus closure function, where only one DSLC control is granted dead bus closure permission through locking technology on the communication network.
Other synchronizer features that may be enabled or disabled during installation include:
Delay automatic multi-color reclosing
Voltage matching
Automatic resynchronization
Synchronizer timeout alarm
When using the 9905-354 DSLC controller, the internal digital base load reference can be raised or lowered by switching input. Remote load Settings are possible with 4-20 mA analog inputs. Loading and unloading ramps ensure smooth transition when operating mode changes.
