Type 99005-063 is an automatic generator load control unit. The device was developed and produced by Woodward, the country's oldest motor control manufacturer. The Woodward AGLC unit is designed for use with a set of load distribution and speed control modules.

The standard application of this AGLC unit provides generator operators with soft loading and loading options. The load is started by an auxiliary circuit breaker within the generator, while offloading is handled when the offloading contact is disconnected. When the engine/generator set is in parallel with the load sharing device, it enables bump-free transmission. It compares the available potential on the load sharing line of the oncoming generator with the potential of the system. The 9905-063 AGLC unit is capable of providing the base load for 1 to 15 generator sets, which form a utility. The base load switch closes or hops, and the controller automatically raises the system ramp to the preset base load level.

The device is equipped with environmental specifications that allow it to operate in a temperature range of up to 85 degrees Celsius or 185 degrees Fahrenheit before it can function properly.
