The Woodward SPM-A Synchronizer (aka 9905-107) is a module with fully adjustable operating parameters to match the adjustable dynamic performance of the engine to which it is attached. Large engines (using diesel, gas or gasoline), turbo-machinery and steam/gas turbines require slow dynamic modules, while small and medium-sized diesel engines require fast dynamic synchronizers. The 9905-107 is equipped with a range of standard specifications in terms of operation. The frequency range is in the standard 50 to 60 Hertz range.

The device has a limited range of phase angles of plus or minus 15 degrees to allow for a large margin in matching phases. Voltage matching is installed in a standard amount, i.e. 5%, in some models of the series. The input and output of the 9905-107 are standard specifications. The input voltage range for the common bus and generator is 115 to 230 V/AC RMS and the frequency is 50 to 60 Hz. The model handles a total power consumption of 5 watts at runtime.
