The Woodward 828 digital controller is available in high and low voltage versions. Part 9907-248 is a high pressure model. It has an external power supply with a nominal power consumption of 40 W at 90-150 Vdc (nominal 125 Vdc). For low-voltage versions, see Model 9907-247. Apart from the power differences, the two models are identical.
The 9907-248 digital controller can be customized to accommodate specialized functions in engine, process, plant and Marine applications, including generator load management. Much of the customization is done through the use of optional accessories, such as digital synchronizers and Load Control (DSLC), which are used to extend the functionality of the 828 controller. This is especially true for load sharing functions, but also for additional I/O control through the use of optional LinkNet nodes.
The Woodward 828 control model 9907-248 has a number of adjustable set points. These configurable set points are managed through the Watch Window PC software or a handheld programmer. The 828 Digital Control Hardware Manual 02875 provides detailed information about these two options. After the set points are saved, they are stored in permanent memory on 9907-248.
