The 723PLUS digital speed control for Model 8280-608 is one of the digital synchronizer and Load Control (DSLC) compatible devices in the Woodward 723PLUS family. Unlike other Woodward controllers, the part 8280-608 has analog input Load Distribution (AILS). The low-pressure 723PLUS control system is designed for diesel engines in tandem engine systems.

In the event of a failure of the simulated load sharing input, the 8280-608 comes with an alternate actuator output engine load sharing plan that includes provisions for manual adjustment.

There are many analog and discrete inputs/outputs on the Woodward 723PLUS AILS controller. Some of these I/ OS are:

Two-speed input for one or two magnetic pickups (MPUs)

Remote speed reference transmitter

Two simulated engine load transmitters

Simulated input load sharing

Discrete input for connecting alarm reset, drop, speed failure to override, etc.

The three communication ports on the 8280-608 provide a number of options for managing control functions.
