Part 8280-467 is a DSLC digital synchronizer and load control compatible unit in the 723PLUS series of speed controllers manufactured by Woodward. This model is one of the 723PLUS versions and is designed for low speed (rated at 130 rpm or less) reciprocating engines. The 8280-467 is a high voltage (90 to 150 Vdc) speed control model.
Low voltage versions of the controller (parts 8280-466) and low and high voltage versions compatible with high speed engines (8280-412, 8280-413). All four reciprocating engines and DSLC-compatible speed controllers are described in the same product manual, the 723PLUS Reciprocating Engine Digital Speed Control - DSLCTM Compatible Installation and Operation Manual Product Manual 02878.
The two-speed signal input on the 723PLUS model 8280-467 supports the use of proximity switches or magnetic pickup (MPU). Proximity switches can be used for speed signal frequencies below 1000 Hz. If an MPU is to be used, the operating speed must provide a minimum magnetic pick frequency of 400 Hz.
