This DSLC/MSLC gateway controller is the low-voltage model in the Woodward 723PLUS series. The LV model has an acceptable input voltage range of 18 to 40 Vdc and A nominal surge current of up to 7 A. Section 8280-416 requires 40 W of power. A high voltage version of the controller (Model 8280-417) is also available.

The 8280-416 DSLC/MSLC Gateway controller can be used with up to 14 DSLC units and 1 MSLC for generator system load management as well as load sharing control. Two serial ports on this 723PLUS controller can be connected to the HMI (or other Modbus master), allowing for parameter monitoring while the generator information is extracted and given the Modbus address.

All networked MSLC and DSLC units can receive commands and values through a third serial port. If the test requires the imposition of commands and values on the cell, some provisions are included to allow use for this purpose.

The 723PLUS controller has a variety of Woodward accessories. These include:

Handheld programmer (part No. 9907-205 or 9905-292) - plugs into one of the controller's communication ports for adjusting 8280-416 software parameters.

MSLC (Master Synchronizer and Load Control) and DSLC (Digital synchronizer and Load Control) - they communicate system and generator parameters to the 8280-416 controller via the LON channel of the device. Information is extracted using the LON Binding Kit (Part number 8928-158) or the 723PLUS DSLC/GATEWAY standard database (part number 8928-053)

Servlink/Watch Window - PC-based software that provides an interface for real-time monitoring and adjusting control variables. The Servlink/Watch Window connects to the 8280-416 via a serial cable plugged into one of the device's communication ports.
