The 723PLUS digital speed control on Model 8280-413 is a DSLC-compatible Woodward controller. This high voltage model controls engine speed and load with a reciprocating engine in generator set service. The device's two-speed input is compatible with proximity switches or magnetic pickups.

The 8280-413 has two LON channels, one for accessing DSLC to monitor parameters, and the other for using Woodward LINKnet input/output node monitoring. Modbus master devices, such as Hmis, can be connected using the controller's serial port.
