Part 8280-411 is a digital speed controller released in the Woodward 723PLUS series. It is designed for use with reciprocating engines in variable speed applications. This model is available as a high voltage version (90 to 150 Vdc) and a low voltage version (8280-410). Both versions require 40 W of power.

The 8280-411 is suitable for applications with torsion of flexible couplings, as these applications can be monitored by two proximity switches via the speed input of the controller. Alternatively, two magnetic pickups (MPUs) can be used instead. If the speed sensor signal is lost, two red indicators on the controller will light up.
