The 723PLUS model 8237-1278 is a multi-functional Woodward DSLC/MSLC gateway controller. Model 8237-1278 is the high-voltage version of this device, requiring 40 W of power and offering an acceptable input voltage range of 90 to 150 Vdc.
The unit uses the LON network to extract generator information from one MSLC and up to 14 DSLC units, at which point it obtains Modbus addresses for parameter monitoring via two serial ports that interface with the HMI. Two separate Modbus devices can be used with this control. The other two serial ports on this gateway controller can be set up for RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 communication.
Accessories for this 723PLUS controller include a handheld programmer (parts 9907-205 or 9905-292), Servlink/Watch Window (PC interface), and DSLC (Digital synchronizer and load control) and MSLC (Master synchronizer and load control) systems. The 723PLUS digital speed control requires adequate ventilation to prevent the device from overheating. The gateway control requires operating temperatures in the range of -40 to +70 °C (-40 to +158 °F). Installation locations must also be protected from direct exposure to water (including condensing environments), vibration, and other devices that may generate electromagnetic interference.
