Model 8290-069, from the Woodward series of electric governors, is a single phase droop controller device compatible with the prime mover. This model is available for both gas and diesel powered engines. The device can be mounted on a prime mover close to the battery and actuator. It should be installed in a well-ventilated place that is not affected by weather and mobile equipment. It can only be cooled by natural methods.

Adding this product to magnetic pickups and actuators will create a complete EPG system that can work on prime movers without a mechanical drive or hydraulic supply.

Models 8290-069 can have an additional optional external capacitor or ramp generator. These two options will allow the user to adjust the time it takes the prime mover to go from idle to rated speed, and vice versa. Ramp generators are most commonly used to provide linear ramps whose time can be adjusted to around 25 seconds, as long as the model and ramp generators are used for typical applications.

The speed range of this model is 750 to 1500 Hz. It is only compatible with actuator type numbers 8256-016 and 8256-021. It operates at a system voltage of 24 volts.
