The 8406-114 is an EGCP-3 engine generator control kit, Master control (MC) model manufactured by Woodward. The unit has a rated input voltage of 18-32 Vdc and an operating temperature of -4 to +158 °F (storage temperature of -40 to +185°F).

The microcontroller unit interface has two display panels and a keyboard for local setup/monitoring and remote HMI. For remote HMI/PLC connections, the MC can be connected to a remote monitoring device using Modbus or Woodward ServLink tools. The four-line display panel is used to configure site-specific requirements, as well as monitor device operations and alerts.

8406-114 must be configured through the first startup menu before use. Configuration points for standard operation are available from the front panel display. Other configuration points (as well as standard configuration points) are accessible from the Watch Window software via the ServLink communication serial link. The basic operation does not require additional features provided through this software.

The device also has built-in security that prevents unauthorized configuration changes and alert log erasure. The configuration menu has five access levels, as described in MC Operations Manual 26195. The configuration menu is accessed using a four-digit security code
